I've had one for a couple of years

    Pros:
Small, mounts onto a camera tripod
Stereo mic with control of level and auto level settings - avoids it clipping
Can go fish eye to get the whole band in shot on small stages
Decent picture quality if the lighting is good (which often it isn't)

    Cons
Small, so easy to forget / leave behind / get nicked if you leave it out of reach
Picture quality a bit grainy when lighting is lower
Higher resolution settings make massive files (obviously)
No case or lens cap included

Here's an example of it used in a rehearsal room

What are you wanting to use it for?

For a camera and mic combined you've always got the compromise of positioning - eg where you film from might not have a great mix, although tbh for a loud rehearsal room I thought the mix was reasonable on the clip - certainly good enough for listening back to see how we're doing.

Prob obvious, but the clip did have some 'old movie' filter added

I used to have gopro hero 5 but the sounds was so bad It was useless for band recording,  also low light footage was quite poor.  I sold it and bought a proper4k camcorder and external Mic and now I have better quality video and excellent sound but it's so much bigger it's hard to find anywhere to put it at pub gigs.   I'm looking for something as smallish as a gopro with an excellent  Mic and reasonable low light footage.  I heard the same concerns about that zoom unit sodidnt get get that.   I tried a tascam hand held recorder to but didn't get on with it.

Need a dragons den inventor to release the "BandCam" and make millions.   (Copyright, patent pending :) )
