$1.6 billion

What's Hot
Jesus, imagine being $1.6 billion better off all of a sudden.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-45963635

I doubt I would survive long enough to actually spend any of it as my head would explode.

It sure as hell is a lot of tax due!

Not sure if taking it in instalments over 29 years is tax free though?

and in the UK lottery winnings are not taxed right?

The winner can decide to take a cash payout of $913m after tax, or opt to have it paid out in instalments over 29 years.

That Robot Gibson AND the SRV Strat would be mine mine mine.  I could hang them in the loo.  With proper Dictator Chic gold-plated taps, and crushed ice to wee on.

That's about the limit of my ambitions right now :confounded:

Not really, I think if I got that much I'd be happy to share it in the naive assumption that the money would do some good

I would pay off my mortgage, and maybe shop at M&S Food more.

I hope they’re in a state which allows anonymity, otherwise you’d have to spend a big chunk of that cash on staff to protect you from the nutters asking for favours.

I never understand people who go public with massive lottery wins, it’s just asking for a load of hassle from freeloaders and hundreds of begging letters. Also the ones who win and then say “it won’t change my life”. Well then, why bother buying a ticket you moron?

Other than various studies have shown that lottery winners become more conservative in their political views when they suddenly come into some money. Very similar to inheritance in that respect. Compulsory donation of the equivalent monies to causes of your choice may be more popular, especially with the local pet shelters who tend to fare much better in donations than many other causes closer to home.

I just imagine how much more relaxed having money would make me. I noticed it when I changed jobs - suddenly I have a couple of hundred pounds extra every month, money for Christmas etc. Paying off the mortgage is the dream. There is such a thing as too much money though. If it did become public, I guess I would make sure my daughter was taken care of, keep back a few million, and very publicly give the rest away.

I'd go full supervillain. Secret volcano base, minions in matching jumpsuits, blowing up Paris, that sort of thing.

I would, I'd run for president of the US and win it easily, on a Lock up that Commie Trump ticket.

I’d give some money to a GoFundMe garage conversion project

    Sadly not.
