Exquisite example of guitar looping

From Sean Angus Watson.
This track is just a beautifully sublime example of what is possible to create using a looper.
Such a deft touch, lovely tone and wonderful phrasing.

Just stunning:

Lots of guitar wobbling going on, what does that add?!

With an SG, probably quite a lot of vibrato given the wobbliness of the neck joints!

  • Those are some lovely sounds that he and the looper are making. I use mine for recording chords/chord progressions and trying to solo over them.....but I sound really crap!

Dunno if watching and hearing this vid will inspire me to continue looping......or to quit and sell the damn pedal.

He has done a video on picking out chord tones in a chord progression which I found really useful and will try with my looper - sounds much more interesting than playing 6 note barre chords all the time.

Really nice, and very much how I use a loper at home, only done very well and videoed all posh and stuff.

Always good to hear an SG being used clean-ish too. They're the best guitar on earth for that sort of thing and hardly anyone realises.

I was assuming he was doing it for the counting, but I'm truly dreadful with a looper so I have no idea

As @Moe_Zambeek said, neck pulling is a fairly common technique to get subtle tremelo on SGs. The thin necks make it easy to do.
