Not a fuzz man so can't answer the second part of your question - sorry! I will say that it became pretty fuzzy on the higher gain settings.
@timbuk02 I'd say it's mid hump is considerably less than a TS. The EQ controls are very useable, you can knock off some highs and bass if you want it to sound more like a TS. It cleans up well, but on max gain it won't go completely clean using guitar volume. It goes from almost a fuzz to a nice overdrive though. Very versatile pedal.
