Odd/stupid question for the electrics experts

What's Hot
I'm making a guitar body that will have some decorative metal in the forearm area. Being general paranoid, I'm wondering if there's any risk of static/hum etc. if isn't earthed and/or if there would be any benefit in earthing it as part of a larger ground plane?

It would add more work to the project so isn't in the 'might as well' category.

Cheers.

I don't think it needs to be grounded in that area, and I'm not sure there'd be any benefit to grounding it.

Earthing it simply adds an extra risk in the - thankfully very unlikely, with modern safety regs - case of a mains fault making the earth connection live.
