The Dunlop Ultex Jazz are terrific, if you like the size/shape of the Jazz picks (and better than the Primetone material, in my opinion—though those are probably worth a try as well).
If I'm not mistaken, that's the pick I've used for years. Same size/shape as a Jazz III and looks like a fungal toenail. I've tried loads and always go back to that one. They do a thicker black Jazz III Ultex, but I didn't like that one so much.
    It's not a competition.

I'm quite a big fan of Brit Picks - www.britpick.co.uk - they do a range of thicknesses and materials (I prefer the 1.22mm silcones), and I like that they're made from recycled plastic too.

The website looks atrocious, but I've never had any problems with service or anything.
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

Jim Dunlop Nylon 0.46 for me. Any heavier and they flick out of my hand!

  • Went through a lot of picks through the years but normally been a Dunlop user. Have tried the Delrin, Gator Grip, Jazz III's, etc. Eventually settled on the Tortex Wedge, which is has a slightly wider shoulder area than the standard Tortex and easier to hold.

  • Jim Dunlop stainless 0.51mm (rigid) = IMO the best general purpose pick in the entire universe

"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

  • teckpick rigid brass picks give you a slightly more mellow sound, could be good for jazz & blooze

Chicken picks are pretty much all I use, shredder and BA3's.

I'm not slavishly loyal or anything, I try other things I like the look of, like the Dunlop flows for instance, but I've yet to find something I like that much.

Really want to try a Winspear

I don't think you're posting in the right part of the forum for that sort of advice....

  • Dunlop Ultex Jazz III 2.0 are very good and thick.
I went from EJ Jazz IIIs to these. I've used the Primetone and Flow versions too but gone back to Ultex 2.0s. I like them very much indeed.

  • The Jazz III was too small for me so I tried the Petrucci signature Jazz style picks and they've been my main pick for months now. Love em!

I really wish my LGS stocked Ultex, flow and primetone picks.

Has anyone got a recommendation on somewhere that can do mixed sets?

I used to laugh at @TheMarlin for the ridiculous mini icebergs he insists on using. Then I spent a little time with the V-picks, found the one that suits me best and I’d never use anything else now. A total convert

Really useful pic (pun intended) thanks for that, helpful to see them side by side.

    Another for the ultex jazz.
