Yeah but its rare, so its worth way way much more than a normal guitar.

Well, having noticed that several of the seller's guitars are *INCREDIBLE* or *AMAZING*, I'm guessing that's the reason - these are guitars far beyond the comprehension of mere mortals.

  • It costs extra to put all those stars in the title and he has to cover those costs somehow.

@mikeyrob73 - I was just going to say...there MUST be an eBay template for bedroom dealers, because they all have the same format - stars, crowns, ace of spades (or some other naff symbol) as separators, plenty of exclamation marks, capitalisation of all text, a suggested vocabulary of over-effusive descriptors and a guide to “taking the best pics in your bedroom or back garden”.

Love how seller kicks off with “EBAY NEWS”. I’m gobsmacked by the revelation that potential buyers can call or text the contact number after clicking the seller information. Who knew, eh?

Then proceeds to gives a mobile number in the next paragraph.

  • I am not sure about a template but I think this seller has multiple accounts on eBay, both business and private and is particularly fond of crowns in his listings.  Also on Reverb.
He specializes in large markups and optimistic pricing. Unfortunately not all buyers have the benefit of the wealth of experience on here and do buy

Lol, I know! I sold that LH (similar age) Strat in the classifieds at the weekend on behalf of a friend for less than half of the asking price (and was happy with it).

I never tire (or should that be tyre) of mentioning a rare car at times like these. The Austin Ambassador is certainly a rare beast. Only 20 left. Yes, twenty. What would you pay for one of those rarities, eh? £100,000? More? Less? What would you say if I found one going for the price of the recent R9 giveaway. Bargain? For such a rare car?

I think that the price is an amalgamation of factors such as the fact that it's a shop sale, he has to turn a profit, it's a leftie and in good condition. There's also an element of him trying his luck, all of which adds up (in his head) to the asking price.

As I always say, he can ask what he likes but the final sale price is the true value. All he needs to do is find just one person to bite and that's job done.

  • Those sellers always seem to have their guitars listed at ridiculous prices... Such as this... AV '57 strat albeit in a nice colour but not event mint and £1895? Really?

These jokers are ruining eBay, snapping up all the bargains and relisting at stupid prices.
