Cort G240 Stratocaster (Made in Indonesia)

Pretty much the same as a Squier Vintage Modified 70s Stratocaster at £321, but I got it for £230...

Specifications

Body: Basswood
Neck: Canadian Hard Rock Maple w/ Rosewood Skunk Stripe
Radius: 12" with Jumbo Frets and Dot Inlays
Nut: Graptech
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Machineheads: Die Cast Tuners
Pickups: x3 Seymour Duncan Designed SC-101
Bridge: Vintage Style 6 Point Tremolo
Finish: Black Polyurethane and Vintage Tint Satin
Case: None

I tried to find the best quality Guitar I could for under £300, but then I went and bought x4 other Guitars and never used it.

It's all solid with particularly nice Pickups, but the Bridge needs to be blocked - I hate 6 Point Whammy.

£100? I was thinking about trading it in.

All advice appreciated.

better off selling it yourself rather than trading in. shops can be very stingy especially the non elite type brands
why not try 150 ono (& hope to get back about 50% of original cost)
some of the cort ones are great value for £ especially 2nd hand :)

Thanks @MLten80 - £150 ono sounds fine to me, as I can't see myself playing it in the near future.

IMO, that Sung-il six screw vibrato bridge is infinitely preferable to the two-point version fitted to some examples of the G series.

Shops have to turn a profit on part-exchanged items. If the Cort might sell for £150, expect to be allowed no more than £80 for it against your proposed next purchase.

If that. The last time I asked about trade-in prices without my guitar there with me, the shop guy said a rough estimate would be a third of what I could get for it selling it myself
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

  • I’d think that on a good day you might get £150 on eBay.

Why not list the guitar on this very forum? There seem to be plenty of candidates for affordable pre-owned guitars.
