is someone somewhere stockpiling them?  =)

Tried both my local shops and neither can sell me one.

And the cheap ones on Amazon/eBay take "up to" 30 days to ship pfft
Red ones are better.

  • TBF, delivery was another £3.50 on top.  But you're right, trying to buy one in a shop - nope.

Funnily enough, I've got 13 Gibsons and didn't have a truss rod tool until last night, when I took in a Custom Shop Pat Martino as a trade for something, and found that it actually had a truss rod tool with it. I'm too dangerous to use it though, but it's a nice ornament. If the timing had have been different, you could have had it!

I use a socket from my socket set and use the screwdriver handle tool. My R8 rarely needs adjusting though, the fat neck is rock solid and only needs a tweak if I change string gauge

  • Gibson's custom shop manager gave me one of those when he gave us a tour of the place years ago, if I can find it you can have it :)

  • I’ve got a couple which I think came with new Gibson guitars. I’ve never found one with a used guitar. l guess that they get lost because most of  the used Gibson’s I’ve bought have come with the original case and documents but not the truss rod adjusting tool. It’s a bit of a pain if you don’t have it because most used guitars you buy require some neck relief to suit your string gauges and playing style.

    5/8 or 5/16 ?

Frustratingly I have a Cruztool already but mine doesn't have the truss rod tool on it :-(

I've ordered a wrench - should have it in a couple of days.

    Of
Course as soon as I'd done that I found my PRS one while looking for the football pump haha

I don't have football boots. The pump is for Zach's new American Football!

  • I also have 3 Gibsons and no truss-rod tool. However they are all set up by Colin, and rarely need adjustment. i don't need a truss-rod tool, I just need a Colin.
