Thanks for the heads-up. Just pulled the trigger on the 40XL. Got some good useable sounds which are modelled on amps like the Fender Blackface, AC30, etc (and some at the other end of the 'dial of doom' that are way too extreme for me), and it's plenty loud. I thought the looper would be a bit gimmicky and not something I'd ever use, but I find myself forced to admit it's a whole load of fun. It's a lot of amp for the princely sum of £119. Very impressed.
