Hi guys,

What would be the best deodoriser to use in my gibson case?

I have a new R8 that is kept in the case most of the time. When I take the guitar out of the case to polish it twice a month there is a musty smell from the case. It’s not unpleasant but it does linger for half hour or so until I put the guitar back.

whats best? Febreeze? Or is there a product more suited to guitars? I guess it has to be nitro safe.

Unless the case has been stored somewhere damp it won't be a musty smell, it's not old enough - it will be the glue from the case lining.

Keep the guitar out of the case on a hanger or a stand. You'll play it more, it will sound better, and it won't pick up the case smell.

Wouldn’t be right to keep it out of its case... would just need polishing more often...

Put some kitty litter in a sock, wedge it in there. Will absorb odours
