Next Boss Waza Craft?

What's Hot
builttospillbuilttospill Frets: 457
What’s it going to be then? I’m hoping for a DD-2W with longer delay times or maybe they will release a DD-3W with the DD-2 option? Which current or obsolete Boss pedal would you like to see Wazafied?

  • Good question, There are a lot. GE-7? CS-3? Wonder if they would do any of the two pedal jobs, like the RT-20.. (guessing they're reliant on DSPs etc so less likely to need the Waza treatment.)

  • PN-2w would be nice

  • I'd personally like a DS-1, BF-2 and a GE-7. I still use a GE-7 on my main board. It'd be great to see/hear Boss's take on the ultimate modded DS-1 and an original MIJ in the same box.

PN-2 is brilliant! Use it all the time, completely maxed out on the square wave setting my current fav Boss.

  • How about a real wildcard - the PQ-4 Parametric EQ?

I'm not a huge fan of the Waza concept, but it's certainly working out very well for BOSS.

Yes I’d take a serious interest in the GE-7, I’ve always ignored EQ pedals but now realise they can play an important part in any set up.

  • How about a Roland Space Echo squeezed into a compact boss enclosure?

Sounds like a good idea for the first Waza twin-peddler. The RE-20 is still a very good pedal. My only concern with them doing the double pedal stuff though is they move to the 3PDT switch instead of the good ol' Boss stomp.

I don't think Boss will revisit the PQ-4, maybe if they renamed it...  Asians are very superstitious and the number 4 is bad luck in their culture as it is sometimes pronounced as the as the word for death.

Something with the RE20 although I'm not sure what. A Waza twin RE20 would be £300 and what could it offer? The smart single stomp idea feels like the winner.

FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz seems like a possible candidate.

    Definitely.
I've never been able to justify the RE-20 living on my board for long because of its real estate cost.
It is, however, my favourite echo pedal ever.
STOP PRESS -- No, my favourite echo "pedal" ever was the original RE-301.
I want that Waza'd, together with the 201, and both in the same compact pedal!

I’d be interested in this! Or just an update of the original with tap subdivisions, control over modulation/tape age, choice of bypass etc.

The RE-20 still sounds great, I think they just missed a trick with those above things which presumably you wouldn’t need a huge redesign to implement.

An RE-20 in a single pedal format would be an excellent choice. It's one of my favourite delays, though recently usurped by the Dunlop Echoplex. In a single pedal format with a socket for tap tempo input it could be a massive seller.

PN-2 is another obvious candidate though I'm not sure what additional features they could bring - perhaps take the VB-2 route and just add a 'more' option?
