Given it's virtually impossible to get any amp up to breathing volume these days, I will plump for a Kemper.

I was in Rich Tone in Sheffield last Friday and noticed they have a Hiwatt DR-103. I thought about spreading fear by asking to try it.

Fender Vibroverb (do the vibrolux amps sound like these?)
    Nothing like them.

Nor do the 63 RI's sound anything like the originals either. I've played ONE 1963 VV and it was, without doubt, the most wonderful amp I've ever heard.

If you want to hear a VV at its best, Ker-Nop-Fler is the man- Brothers in Arms or Lady Writer.

    Anyway, my list is short
     1957 Tweed Twin
    1963 Vibroverb
    1959 Big box Tremolux

That's it. I've got everything else I want.

@Gassage, just buy a Headstrong Verbrovibe they are outstanding imho, no need to wait for that elusive vintage one.

The only 2 amps I'd love to try out/own are a Marshall 30th Anniversary full stack, and a Peavey Wiggy (yes, I am aware that they don't get great critical acclaim, but they're just cool)

I've never seen 19 words that have repulsed me as much as these until now.

I would really like to try out a Dual Rec Roadster.

I have the Dual Rec multi-watt at the moment, which covers clean, hard rock and metal tones, but I have to use a drive pedal on the clean channel to get my low gain tones.

It would be awesome if I could use the extra channel on the Roadster to get that, so I can get rid of my drive pedals altogether.

    My needs are simple:

5E4 or 5E4-A Tweed Super (this is the version with 6V6's)
    5F4 Tweed Super
V Front Super or Dual Professional, I'm not picky!
Brown 6G4-A Super (Used to own one of these would love another)
    Low Power 5E8-A Tweed Twin

  • I'd like to try a Two Rock Classic Reverb but I would never pay over £4000 for one. Or even £2000 plus, not anymore anyway
I’m looking £3200 for mine if you’re interested?

  • Hughes and Kettner Tri-Amp mk2 (standard or Alex Lifeson sig) or mk3, but I'm quite happy with my GrandMeister 36 for now.

My band - Crimson on Silver  For sale - Blackstar HT-5S

Gear - Guitars, amps, effects and shizz. Edited for Phil_aka_Pip, who is allergic to big long lists.

    Trainwreck Express
    JTM45 mk1 (5881s)
    Aynsley Lister’s 1965 BF Vibroverb
Early 1963 6G16 Vibroverb (blonde prototype)
    Marshall #1958 2x10” 18w w/Reverb
Chris, you realise there were only 19 made and the last one sold made 30k?!
Yes, it was I who told you that!

I’d be quite happy with a brown one, but a blonde proto would really be the ticket
I'd be interested in more info about those.

Are the blond protos a different circuit, or the same 6G16?

I wonder how different the circuit is to my current Bandmaster?

I must get round to blueprinting it so I know what the currnet circuit is, but here's how tt got there...

It started as a 70s S/F Bandmaster Reverb head like this:

It was ultra-linear with the horrible boost circuit on the master volume.

Some time ago, when I was still down south, I had a tech remove the ultra-linear bits, and the master volume (one Jesse Hoff - you may have heard of him ;) ). I then had a 1x15 combo cab built and fitted a Weber 15" speaker. Finally, I had some black-facing done, and the Normal channel has been converted to a "Tweed" channel (with just gain, tone, and volume).

It now sounds really good, but I originally wanted it to sound like a Vibroverb (when I was in my SRV phase) so I'd be interested to know how close it got.

    R.

    Now there's a surprise.

Within a week, you've manage to flip on a hypothetical question.

I’m still wanting a Super Reverb. I don’t care if it’s a reissue I’ve never owned one and would like to.

Other than that I think I’d like to try out a Lazy J 40.

    66 super reverb

    67 vibrolux reverb

    A 70 1986 50w smallbox

    & 71 1987 50w smallbox.
