Faulty volume slider on Variax acoustic 700

Hi ... does anyone have any knowledge about what it takes to repair a faulty Variax acoustic 700 volume slider?  Is it a simple variable resistance thing, or is it computerised somehow?

It is computerised, Nigel.

Check the cable is plugged in fully on the back (they can work loose).
If it’s caput you could try contacting Yamaha or Line6 US. Or there is a chap local to me who had all my Variax spares - I can’t recall if there was a User Interface (as it’s called) amongst the bits. Let me know, and I could pass on contact details.
