Just saw it on the BBC website too :(

63 is no age at all.

I play Ever Fallen In Love in my band's current set... will make a special mention at the next gig.

  • “Ever Fallen...” is one of my favourite songs of all time. Covered it in an acoustic duo and full band versions and i’ll never get bored of it.

A great legacy that will live on.

    RIP Pete.

Really shocked by this - one of Manchester’s most iconic bands from the time I was growing up. RIP indeed....

    Boooo!
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

    Shit.

I had the single of Ever Fallen In Love when it came out, and still have the sheet music from the same time. I have fond memories of looking at the banjo-style chord symbols for C#m and B, and wondering how on earth I was going to play them.

Terrible news - EFiL was one of the first songs that my first band learnt to play together. Such a good tune.

  • Well, fuck. I remember hearing Buzzcocks on the radio in 1978, aged 12 and it's no exaggeration to say that it was a pivotal moment in my life, the ground zero for my love of music.

I loved Buzzcocks, but also Shelley's solo stuff, such as Homosapien and XL-1. Homosapien was a massive influence on the Human League, who basically nicked his sound. He was a lot more influential than people probably know.

The first gig I took my girlfriend (now my wife) to was Pete Shelley at the Electric Ballroom, May '86. We're both gutted to hear of his passing.

    RIP, Pete.
My wife asked me to stop singing Wonderwall.
    I said maybe.....

I don't own any of their records, I've never seen them live, but Buzzcocks were in the charts when the charts were something I actually cared about, and they wrote great songs.  Very sad news.

The sound of my late teens. My favourite band for many years. Only saw Pete solo in the early eighties and the Buzzcocks around 10 years ago. Gonna be Buzzcocks on Spotify all day today. RIP
