Pancacke Jacks?

What's Hot

I'm rewiring my large pedal board and I've run out of pancake jacks - what’s the consensus on the best ones and where is good to buy them?

Thanks!

Ross

Following. Can we extend this to regular angle jacks, too? Apologies for semi-hikack

Interesting I shall google them - thanks!

Looking at the bag label on the old ones it seems they were Switchcraft 228's?

@designacable seems to have those and the tiny SP400 SquarePlug in stock.

Sp400 is for thin cable - think it’s 4mm. Hi cons are a bit larger diameter than the round silver ones I think.

Switchcraft are the best pancake plug. The SquarePlugs are also good, and smaller.

Neutrik are the only plug worth looking at for regular angle jacks, or any regular jack for that matter.

I've got some Switchcraft/Lava 229s if that's any help? They were the best when I bought them a couple of years back...

    Edit: they're in the emporium

I’ve just made a load up with Switchcraft pancake plugs. Make sure you use a hot iron.

What about some of the Solderless options ? They aren’t as low profile as pancake but slimmer than a regular right angled jack plug

I've used the George L's in the past - they were okay - but for the sake of 20 seconds with an iron I'd rather solder them :)

Some of the pancake jacks are a bugger to solder, Amazon Rayzm plugs work really well for a fixed pedalboard and the only issues I’ve heard have been down to general fuckwittery ;)

I use 3 Monkeys Solderless. Really easy to cut and set up. Expensive yea, but you get enough cable for lots of pedals. I wired my ES-8 and I've got a lot of cable left. Really low profile.
