Def Leppard - Nottingham 2018

Saw Def Leppard the other night. I am sure I have the most vintage shirt there (if that a thing), but quite surprised at the mix of the crowd. Mostly people older than me (no surprise), but a fair few young people too which was good to see. Def Leppard can still put on a great show.

Cheap Trick were pretty good too!

  • I was very tempted to go to this, Hysteria is up there in my all time favourite albums, but I was pretty unimpressed with the Viva Hysteria footage.

I saw them a few years back (tour with Motley Crue) and they lacked something....and Phil’s constant use of the sustainer got really annoying.

Last time I saw them before that was the Don Valley gig when Adrenalize came out!

A work colleague went to see them at the O2 the other day.  He's the same age as me, 54, and it was the first "heavy metal" (his words) gig he'd ever been to.  I said you'll recognise loads of the songs when you hear them... but he only recognised Animal.

I saw them on the first Hysteria tour 30 years ago, but never since.
