Christmas booze deals?

What's Hot
Anyone know where the current booze deals are? Morrison's had one last week, spirits and Baileys, not sure if it's still on or not.

We bought lots of christmas wine while tesco had the buy 6 get 25% off deal on, it all appears to have evaporated so not a good deal at all really.

  • We have Tesco shopping on line and under the banner Christmas almost everything is booze offers. I feel people have a quite different Christmas than I do. We were in M and S foodhall buying two half price bottles of port and they were trying to impress on us that if we bought six we'd get some further discount.
I suspect you've left it late for the best deals but all the supermarkets have had some deals on. I've got a Macro card so if I felt the need for a last minute six pack of Stella I'd head there

Ok, Tesco. 25% off selected wines when you buy six bottles. £16 for selected 1 litre bottles of spirits. That kind of thing.

Im after a 1ltr bottle of Jamesons, I know I can get it from Morrisons for 25 quid, Caskmates is a few quid less for 70cl, JD is very tempting at that price but I do enjoy my Irish Coffees on Christmas day.

My guess is supermarkets do deals weeks before Christmas so you buy it, then drink it weeks before Christmas, like I did.

  • Vermouth is going for a deal at Tesco (martini) and Waitrose (cinzano bianco and Rosso)

    Loves me a vermouth.

If anyone spots any of the following liqueurs on sale I'd be grateful to know...

    Chartreuse
    Calvados
    Creme de cacao
    Creme de mure
    Velvet falernum
    Hazelnut liqueur (frangelico or similar).

Some of these seem hard to find...

Sainsbury's own vermouth is pretty good, more like Cinzano, at least the extra dry is. Not too far from Noilly Prat but slightly weaker and I would say consequently more pleasant.

Got 18 tins of 440ml Magners cider from Sainsburys a couple weeks ago for £10.

I'll have a look when I'm passing Tesco to see if anything else looks tempting. Some Guinness Draught widget tins would be good.

I quite like their Rosso, it's absolutely fine although slightly less complexly (is that a word?) spiced up than some brands, it compares pretty well to martini
