1979 Tokai TE-85 telecaster, pretty much top of the range from the golden years of Japanese production. 1 piece Sen ash body, maple neck with medium profile, brass nut.

These are very rare - I have only ever seen 2 on Japanese eBay and have bought them both! This one has seen a lot of action as shown by the playwear on the fingerboard but is in great condition and plays great. Mainly selling due to baby on the way

My upgrades have been:
Professional re-fret and setup
Fender nickel 3-saddle bridge installed (original brass one included)
Copper-foil lining to cavities to reduce electrical interference

The guitar is otherwise all original with pickups, electronics etc.

    Thanks still available.

    A few people have asked - the bodies used for TE80 and 85 guitars are exactly the same (1 piece Sen ash) so they are all stamped as 80 but when it came to finishing the 85s they got a natural clear finish rather than the blonde or other finishes on the 80s. Fretboard end says 85 as well on this one to confirm model number.
