Tacoma Narrows Bridge Disaster - Truth Escapes

What's Hot
Obviously I wasn't around to post this when we launched it. But this year we launched a single. Some people might not have heard it yet. Would love it if you checked it out. Cheers!

  • Vocals put me in mind of Alice in Chains...that's not a criticism.

It's a beautifully complex listen on headphones.

You boys are a great band.

That was cool. I shut my eyes and let it wash over me. With the vocals it was like a cross between Tool and BJH. That was a punchy recording too, where did you record it?

Cheers. Recorded at the fxpansion studio where I spend a lot of my time recording and editing etc...etc...

Same place we shoot some of our videos.

Nice work, plenty going on in the track and it expands/evolves really well. Dynamics are excellent for example and I really like the cadence of the whole piece.

    Hadn't heard that before.

    Really good work

    I'm assuming that's you singing?

In which case the lessons have really been paying off. I'd have liked some more vocals including maybe some full on stuff during the heavier bits.

The only criticism is have is I felt the snare got a bit lost in the rockier sections so maybe it needed a bit more crack to it.

Thanks for that. I recorded it from my laptop onto my media player.
    That's 4 quid I've saved myself.
This day just gets better and better.

Great Sunday morning listen ... sounds great on my iLoud monitors cranked right up ... especially around 3:22 ... is there a new album in the pipeline?

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

    Yep. New album in 2019.

  • I liked that.
The intro, which is right up my street, reminded me slightly of Yawning Man. There was plenty there to keep me interested throughout, even though I'm really not generally a fan of heavier styles of music. I guess it's because there's melody and layering, plus the song flowed nicely. It sounded remarkably powerful just through the iMac speakers, which is an achievement in itself!
Will definitely be checking out more of your work.
My wife asked me to stop singing Wonderwall.
    I said maybe.....

So much recent music is over-compressed, written to a verse/chorus/bridge formula, and has a metronomic beat running through the recording. It’s a real pleasure to find something which is written with theme and sections, and has room to breathe.

Mate, you just describe my band's forthcoming album... :D

(with the probable exception of the compression)
