My brother n law bought a PR18 in aged tweed. It’s enough to make me want to part with my Lonestar. 

Hands down the best amp I’ve played. If I had the cash I’d have ordered one a while ago.

That's the thing isn't it....knowing that to get that amp you have to get rid of something else

It’s not possible just now unfortunately. The Lonestar is an amazing amp. I think the finish on mine could have either made it very unique and desirable or simply added nothing to the value at all. It’s not like I have something that I don’t like... it’s just that I like and want the rift more. 

The whole vibe of the aged tweed thing sold me immediately before I’d even plugged it in. It OOZES quality.

Being an impatient git, the kicker for me is that they are now instantly available from Anderson’s. The Brownface PR18 is very tempting - Mr Rift @riftamps where does the midrange sit in the Brownface ones, I take it it’s not as scooped as the Blackface and therefore takes drive pedals better? Does it still have bigish low end?

Yup, less scooped, warmer, and more detailed. Low end is about the same, maybe a smidge more pliable.

I am very late to the Rift party - is the PR35 like a louder Princeton or am I way off?
