I am almost certainly going to buy a new house.

It's a bit reliant on finding a house I like enough.
After all that effot on your workshop ? :/
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

  • Sleep more.
Seriously - my eyes look so tired.

Also - continue with the singing and acoustic thing.
Keep going with the exercise (middle-aged spread plus thinning hair requires buff bod lol).
    Cook more, too.

A couple of close friends have died in the last 12 months which is a massive reality check, so for 2019 I'm going to try and live a little

Seriously evaluate my current relationship. I'm a widow with a 10 yo son, she's divorced with 2 kids. I work 9 to 18:30, she works on her parent's restaurant from 12 to 16 and then from 18:30 to 23 sometimes midnight, saturdays included. This means little time together. She has to spend time with her kids too, which usually is on Sundays.

So no romantic dates - no dinners or weekends - except on sundays after she spent time with her kids.

We like each other, but with so little time together it's really difficult to keep a close healthy relationship.

On top of that, the kids, mine included, are set on sabotaging the relationship - meals together are really stressful and almost always ended with one of them in a bad mood or misbehaving.

I wonder if it really is worth it.
Life’s too short for this, just look at some of the posts on this thread,
liking each other isn’t enough whatever the situation,,I like my mate at work but he’s just a mate and if I left tomorrow he probably wouldn’t give a shit.
Concentrate on making the two most important things in your life happy-you and your son-and you might find that happiness attracts someone you don’t just like.
Sometimes you gotta make difficult choices to make it worth it ,

You could cook less and skip the exercise.... :)

  • I didn't make any NY resolutions last year and for the first time in my life - managed to achieve it. Got out of toxic relationship, lost lots of weight, got healthier in general...

From 1st Jan onwards - I'm planning to cut down on booze and weed, and stay on the healthy path - keep up with exercise and drink plenty of water...

Good luck to everyone with theirs.

I'm imagining Jazz Hard as a straight to video sequel to Die Hard.

    Hhhhmmm let's see:

Family wise - well, kid number 2 due in Feb so I guess enjoy it however hard those early stages can be.

Work wise - need that promotion goddammit, worked both nuts off the last few years and it's been promised, need to see it now Mr. Company.

Gear / playing wise - apart from one to sell, the guitars I enter 2019 with will be the same I exit with and no new additions, honest. Learn some theory - anything will do.

    Spend less time on here.

    It would never be straight.

I also want to keep doing my vegetarian thing, stay off the booze (was mostly successful at this in 2018) and keep exploring the Eurorack world.

All of mine are fairly predictable:

    1) be more consistent with my cycling and running, i.e. instead of building up my fitness over a few months, then for some unknown reason stopping and getting lazy.
    2) lose a bit of that fat that's tightly packed around my internal organs by doing 1) and cutting out crap like extra bowls of cereal at bedtime etc...
    3) finally get my band, Dutch Alps, a project which has been on the go for about 2 years, to a point that we can record and gig.
    4) keep going with my solo music project, maybe being in a position to release something later in 2019.
    5) continue to manage my money in a more grown up, non head in the sand fashion.
    6) not get so wound up about trivial things at work.
    5) be grateful of all the good things in my life, and to support friends that are having a much tougher time than I am.

    5) (the first of your two no. 5's, I think I see your counting problem! : )  Online banking, look at your accounts everyday without fail, doing this has transformed my management of money.

I’m having a YouTube Subscription cull for New Year.....No Anderton bashing from me as I’ve enjoyed various contributions from the gang..... but I’ve deleted Andertons, TPS, Mark Agnesi, Norms Rare Guitars, Etc. Etc. If I happen to stumble across a video from them that interests me I’ll still watch... :)
