Richtone Music - I like them....

What's Hot
I know they are not the most popular shop around here especially for their on-line sales.

Took my son in today to buy a dirt pedal, he didn't really know what he was after. He was given pretty much free reign to try whatever he wanted, we were in there about an hour, no pressure. Just what a buying experience should be like really.  Not the first time I've had good service from them either.

In the end he came out with a really nice used Wampler Pinnacle Delux.  It's boxed and pretty much unmarked for £130 which is £80 less than GAC and Andertons are showing for new. To be fair I thought that from a shop it was a very good deal too.

  • Treat a customer well, and you've got a customer likely to return. Given the climate on the high street these days, how could you afford to do otherwise?

FWIW I get through a set or two of strings a week and for the last couple of years I've bought most of them from RichTone.
    I think they're good.

  • Yep, I've bought lots of stuff from them over the years. Never let me down.

  • Bought straps, strings and other bits and pieces online.  Cannot fault them so I keep going back.

Where did they get the negative rap from? I've not had a bad experience from there either... Or is more a case of they are good, but coda/peach etc go above & beyond?

The in shop experience I had there, was one of the better ones.
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

I'm sure I remember a couple of threads on here about people being unhappy when buying from their website.

I think it was staff being unhelpful when things didn't go to plan.

  • I've had some gear with quality issues from them, which annoyed me at the time, but they have always put it right. They are my local shop, but I'm not biased. The guys in there are decent guys, someone who was in my band knows a couple of them.

They seem to have the best sale reductions again as they did with Black Friday this year. Just make sure you scrutinise the item :)

My online experiences have been positive with them. They were very patient with me through some fits of indecision (I'm not always a bad customer, honest)

They killed Schrödinger’s cat?     That’s definitely excessive!

I’ve bought some bits online.  They’ve been fine. Although last time, it was cheaper to buy the same thing off them via Amazon (fulfilled by Richtone) than off their own website.

And that kind of personal service is why I use them.

They are local to me (Chesterfield) and I find them very good. I was trying out basses on Black Friday and there was no pressure. They just let me play basses for an hour or so. Never bought anything on line though.

I like them too but did they slice your cat too thick or too thin?

Talk about damned with faint praise :D I've only ever had great experiences with them when dealing online and over the phone.

I like Richtone, they always provide great customer service.

I also bought a used 1x12 EV Mesa Thiele cab from them a couple of years ago for £160.00 which I quickly sold for £300.00.  That made me quite happy :D
