Almuse Electric "Explorer" mandolin

Here is a curious one – my electric mandolin, inspired by the Gibson Explorer and made by Pete Mallinson of Almuse in Lincolnshire.

 

I have had the instrument for about nine years now. When I bought it I was going through a real “mandolin phase”, and when I got this one, it represented the perfect crossover for me – loud humbuckers on a folk based instrument.

I recorded the video a good few years back too – please try not to let all my mistakes put you off – it’s a great instrument!
