I didn't know the whole story, but I did know he played on it - because I bought the first album on import in 1984 and in those days I used to read and memorise the credits on everything...

In fact it's only because of that track that I knew who Tim Pierce was when I first saw his clips on YouTube a few years ago.

I've got about 27 different versions of this story on my YouTube feed now but Tim's is from the horses mouth. I find him very watchable on YouTube.
