Not particularly exciting although the Mick Ronson one seems interesting.
PSA - article does contain gratuitous use of the word pups.

Ah got it, the pups that sound like poop (Wilkinson WOHHB humbuckers. "These pups are capable of smooth low ends, a ‘plummy’ midrange, and piercing highs").

The best guitar vintage made imho is one the stopped making ages ago, the vr100lm. That’s what they should be adding back into the range not just sticking and extra pickup in a les Paul copy.

Pleased to see Mick Ronson receiving belated tribute.

Unless it were a faithful Ace Frehley LP "tribute" of some description, I find it difficult to reconcile triple humbucker Gibson style guitars with a mixture of Standard and Custom appointments.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

I like how the marketing blurb references Rebel Rebel, which Ronson didn't actually play on (all guitars by Bowie himself)
Some of the gear, some idea

Wasn't it Alan Parker? I thought Bowie wrote the first part of the riff, Parker added the last few notes and then played it himself on the record.

  • If anybody wants to buy me one I'd go for the V100NB
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

Hadn't heard that. If so, someone needs to update the Wikipedia entries for the single and the Diamond Dogs album, as they both cite DB as the only guitarist.

    I like that P90 L.P. thing.

Starting to think I need a new guitar to get back into playing!

Just looks like they had a load of pickups to use up. Very uninteresting

Pretty generic stuff from the worst named guitar company ever.

Very this. Shame as they get quite good reviews too.

I suggest Derivative guitars as the new name.

    Should name them "Lawsuit" guitars.

  • They have their place for those who want an LP style guitar and not spend Gibson prices.I have a V100 Lemon Drop, for £300 it's a fine, well built and very playable guitar. Not really bothered about the name on the headstock, though I admit that one day I would like to get a full fat Gibson LP, but for the foreseeable future I'm fine with the V100.

  • I've got a Vintage VS6 (SG copy) and it's a pretty good guitar. Gave it to my eldest (11) as he's learning now.

I have a lowly Vintage Vn99 Zip .It plays well but by design sounds different to most  guitars due to two strat ceramic single coils  strapped together  with loads of copper tape and humbuckered.Nice player though and fun .I do fancy that P90 yellow junior though.
Vintage are a quantifiable buy .You know what you are getting .A low price ,well playing decent sounding  cheapie that is good enough to play live but possibly not at the 02.While not top quality by any means certainly not lowest quality either.
