Always been suspicious of these guys - selling guitars with high quality pickups for pittance. It just didn't seem to add up.

Only fair to post a statement Boult have  on their website:

    STATEMENT

There have been a lot of rumours and words flying around about what is happening and what the future will be for Boult Guitars. This statement is aimed at clarifying the situation for you, and to help re-assure you all that the right measures are being taken to safe guard all of our customers.

    For clarification:

    - A DSo1 form was submitted to companies house on 29/12/18 to dissolve the limited company of Boult Guitars, following advice which was sought.  We have not and will not take any orders after this date. This was wrong and we apologize for any distress for any of you. A DS02 form will be submitted this week to rescind this application to dissolve. The company will remain open. It's important to note that this wouldn't have taken effect until later in the year in 2019, and the company would not have been liquidated. The company in its current format will remain open until all transactions are either complete or refunded, when a further application to dissolve will be submitted. We were given poor advice in this matter, and we are truly sorry for any panic caused.

    - We will ensure that all existing orders are resolved. To make this easier for our customers, all outstanding orders will be universally cancelled and full refunds (including any postage or upgrade costs), will be fulfilled as soon as possible. To state it in explicit terms, everybody will be refunded. These will be complete for all customers within 14 days. There will be no exception for this, and an email will be sent to you to confirm that a payment has been resent from the funding source. If you need to discuss a refund, then please email  and somebody will reply within 24 hours. For customers who have felt the need to make a PayPal or any other claim, we will continue to contact them to approve these in a manner as quick as possible. To re-iterate, there is no attempt to take anybodies money "as a scam" and all monies will be returned. This process has already begun, and will continue until everyone is refunded the full amount they paid.

    - We're aware of allegations that a manufacturer are selling goods originally ordered by us, and telling customers this is because we are experiencing financial difficulties. This is wrong and we are persuing this as far as possible. The accurate story is that the guitars made had significant flaws when the first ones arrived to us, and we made the decision to not continue with any business with that manufacturer, or any other in the local area. These statements are highly libelous and we have reported them to all of the appropriate authorities. We will happily share any evidence of this.

    - Any outstanding issues other than sales, such as charity raffle prizes, we will be contacting the small handful of people affected (no more than 5), and offering them either the value of the prize in an alternative format, such as cash, or alternative goods. Those people will be contacted this week.

    - We will continue to work to honour all other commitments, before the company will be shut down.

    - All stock relating to Boult Guitars at the end of this process, will be either destroyed or donated for a variety of causes. If you want further information on this, please contact

    - Due to the nature of worry, and the statements flying around and being posted, we've been advised to remove our social media accounts, so our FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram feeds will be deleted at 18:00 on January 9 2019. Please be assured that this website and all other communication channels will remain open at all times until the company closure.

If you have any other enquiries, please feel free to use the following email addresses:

    For refund payments - [deleted]

    For further clarification - [deleted]

We are sorry for any distress this situation may have caused you, but we guarantee that no stone will be left unturned in fulfilling our obligations to you. To re-iterate in the strongest possible terms, every obligation will be fulfilled as soon as possible.

Finally, we'd like to thank every customer who has purchased from us during out three and a bit years of trading. We hope that you value the guitars for a long time.

    The Boult Guitars team.

All the more reason for buying a guitar that actually exists from a proper shop that also exists in real space and time.

saw this lot around ages ago, always looked weird - Bareknuckle pickups on a guitar costing c.£2-300? And original Floyds? Very odd. Got a couple of mates who have them but they must be made of plywood or something!
