NGD: Jackson Dinky

Well it's tasteless (to some) but I'm a sucker for a superstrat and this was a modern love story - I fell in love via YouTube.

It the MIM Jackson Pro Dinky DK2MQM in Chlorine blue. JB / 59 pickup combo. Contoured maple neck. 3 piece bolt on scalloped cut aways. Floyd Rose. It's everything a modern superstrat should be.

It's my first real new guitar* since 1995 so it's been a long time coming - and I'm looking forward to getting my shred on.

I had one of these, but the MIJ version. One of the best sounding guitars I've ever owned. I see they've also moved the volume knob to a more sensible location, which was the only gripe I had with it. Nice to see a proper Floyd as well rather than the Jackson licensed ones.

    Congratulations, you chose wisely :)

  • Very nice! I had the hardtail version, but I sold it and replaced it with a Charvel. Chlorine burst is definitely the best colour :)
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

Back in 95 a friend of mine had a red single pickup Jackson and I've loved them ever since. He was about a year ahead of me on both guitar technique and hair length at the time so he became someone I looked up to.

The only thing it's missing is the shark fin inlays but I actually really like the offset dots on the maple fretboard. And as you say, that Chlorine burst is gorgeous, and the effect continues on the headstock. It's a looker (if you like that sort of thing)!

I agree with you but each to their own! I can think of some who would find it a bit brash...
