    From what I remember, the brand name shin-ei came out of copyright so a clever soul took it over and started building the pedals again. Requests for guyshots were not forthcoming prompting me to believe they are nothing like the original. I can think of two companies who build faithful reproductions of the original uni vibe. I have the vibe baby and I highly recommend it. 

    I believe the disappearance comment refers to missing the control pedal.

    Regarding the op’s thread, unless you have a photo with that exact vibe in Jimi’s hands, I’m sorry, I’m suspicious. So much Jimi gear comes up every year that he must have had a warehouse to store it all. 
    Provenance with proof rather than word, no?

    That was my thinking, but the majority of the connections between celebrities and gear are flaky. Not for me I’m afraid.
