Very nice. A 50's spec gold top or 50's standard would have tempted me,  but I know their new pricing policy is going to put these out of reach for me.

Might aswell get a used R6 or R8.

Ohhh. It'll be interesting to see how this affects the range - presumably this merges the Traditional and Standard leaving the Classic just below? And will they have still have fancy switching underneath the more back to basics exterior?

If the price is right, then this is what most of us wanted. Back to basics, no BS guitars.

Been 24 hours now and you can actually navigate it!

Like WTF, an actual useable website for a major guitar company. Who'd have thought it...

Common sense returns .. not a Robot Tuner in sight. The Les Paul Special looks cool.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

If they've got any sense they'd do something with Kramer & Steinberger.

Special and junior are both lovely. Good job Gibson. Henry J must have signed these off before he became a 'consultant' I guess?

  • The standard looks such good value compared with a used R8/R9. ;)

Gibson finally get it right - it beggars belief that they were flailing around in the dark for so long.

It doesn't seem to have been updated for these new models though, unless I'm missing something.

It almost seems a bit too straightforward.

(Edit:  I notice they're not sure whether the 2019 SG Standard has a rounded neck or a slim taper one - I'd guess the former.  Rewrite all that shit and put the measurements in!)

This exactly. Let’s hope they nail it.
