I've been watching some of his YouTube clips recently, he plays Kiesel guitars now and has lost quite a lot of weight.  Seems like a very nice chap.

The man just exists for endorsements, changes amp and guitar almost weekly. Amazing talent but makes dreadful records these days that are more blues-heavy rock than supercharged country.

Johnny is probably my favourite guitarist ever but the blues isn't really his thing......he doesn't know how to put the brakes on
He really is 500mph chicken picker who is best off in the Nashville/country scene .He is also the most incredible Bluegrass acoustic flat -picker.
He's lost a bit of weight over the last year
    Amazing guitarist.

  • Amazing player, seems like a nice guy too and as @mgaw mentioned is registered blind. Has managed to make more money than 99% of people moaning on forums...if he wants to switch up endorsements then who cares really?

Music not my cuppa tea but to be fair that is the same with Landreth et al

i always liked the PRS Johnny Hiland model, it was a cool twist on the Custom 24. You don't see many these days. He's an incredible player, glad for him he's lost a bit of timber too, he was a big lad in that first vid.

First discovered him when his signature PRS was released. Haven't checked out that much of his music over the years since but in every video I've watched he's a happy, super-talented guy who's making a living playing music and loves guitars and gear. I'd love to sit and have a jam and a chat with him.

He has some instructional video courses available through YouTube that are very good.

  • Top notch country picker, his bluesy stuff doesn’t appeal to me but he’s a chicken pickin country pedal steel bending legend no doubt.
