I recently ordered from Ash. The guy had the bloody temerity to respond to my private messages OVER CHRISTMAS and to bloody well help me choose a pickup based on my taste for a competitor of his as well.

I mean... the sheer cheek of it!!

Listen - without guys like Ash, Thorpy, and the guys in gigging bands who actually know what the hell they're talking about, this forum would've died years ago. For my part I came back specifically to help Lee with some ideas he had, which we will be working on in the coming year, but bloody hell you guys make it hard.

And then people wonder why America seems to trounce the UK right now when it comes to guitar based music and all it entails (good bands, good equipment, magazines, and a community) when this sort of frippery is what people have to put up with.

I’ve not read the thread in question - I’m trying to spend a lot less time here - but it sounds like another tFB low point....

Ash has made an invaluable contribution here - he’s massively knowledgeable. I hope he sticks around.

Lots of people here saying the fretboard is becoming a bitchy place and not nice to be here anymore. Yes there are some out of line moments like all forums but there’s a good community here  

I’ll be honest and say that Ash you are truly a great guy as I’ve personally bought from you myself but you’ve made this a far bigger deal in your own head than it actually was/is and your comments about leaving were not justified 

It’s not helped by the pitchfork crew that just pipe up for a rumble to string up the OP because he’s upset their mate when actually he had a valid point in the first place

FWIW as someone not involved I dont think either the last thread or the "previous mauling" mentioned has damaged the brand.  I've never bought after market pickups before but the brands that stick in my mind are barenuckles, oil city and creamery and I reckon those names must have osmosed into my brain through this place...
