Cabling question..

I bought myself some m-audio av40 monitors as my old cheap cpc set were struggling with the bass frequencies I am now chucking at them...  but I noticed in the manual the jack connections suggested were for TRS... my current cables are the XLR (from the desk) to TS type jacks..  they are only short length cable though.. any point in changing them??

My trading feedback

is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

I would do it - I started off using unbalanced connections when I got my AI but got much better level when I changed them to balanced... plus you get the noise cancelling shennanigans that balanced cables bring.

Balanced connections are vital on long cable runs of low signals ... like mics from stage to desk or the cabling in the studio from live room to control room.
On short runs unbalanced but well shielded cables are perfectly fine and in some cases will be slightly quieter since the actual internal noise of a balanced circuit is normally higher than a single ended input
