NPsD - The First For Ages ! Duellist, Supro

So, I was a regular NPD kinda-chappie at one stage, as some of you will know...

Spent a fortune, swopped and changed, learnt loads, went all digital, and now I'm back !

I'm building just a small board ("Honest" says I to Mrs Meister, "just a few...") to go with the gorgeous Carr Mercury V.

1.) King Tone Duellist

Now, this is a bit special. Blues breaker-ish on the left, Tube Screamer-ish on the right... beautifully made, and one of those pedals that I like turning the knobbies..

Only home use so far, and the big test will be with the band at next rehearsal.

2.) Supro Tremolo

This was recommended to me some time ago by @kjdowd and Kev has good ears, and understands tone.

Has that kinda nice pre-amp feel to it, that some quality pedals give. And it oozes that Deep South  sound that I love and crave (I never know where this has come from... living in the heart of the Black Country).

The gain setting is awesome.

I didn't like the knobs, so changed them to the cream ones.

Pedal board mock up below. The two Free The Tones have been recent incomings too, and are delightful. I chose the FT-2Y delay due to its clean properties mainly, as the Mercury V amp breaks up and needs that clarity....

Good to be back in the saddle...

The Duellist a very tactile pedal - pos the best made pedal I’ve encountered so far. Happens to sound great too. That’s gonna be an awesome little board.

I agree Dan, and it just seems so instinctive to dial in... I've been switching between the Alt T Pro and the MB Strat (weaker pick ups) and the adjustment is simple and easy.

Just waiting on the Supernoon to arrive now

You may be right... Ive got a Schmidt Array 450 with power supply... Hmmm...

Every time someone asks for a tremolo recommendation, I've always mentioned the Supro. Sounds fantastic, harmonic mode is lovely, and the gain dial is a great addition.

How’s the Duellist for mid-humpyness? Currently got a Snouse Blackbox and a Mojo hand Rook OD which are great for transparency. I wonder how different the Duellist is, really, to this pair of pedals.

I’ve never got on with Tubescreamers mate, but this one is delightful. Both sides can be subtle, the BB more so (left) and raucous

Nice. I’ve like TSs but the classic ones sound too much like ‘blues in a box’ and that’s all in the EQ. I wish it was easier to try pedals without outlaying so much cash!
