Sadly some ongoing wrist and hand issues mean that I'm unable to make best use of my guitar gear and so I'm looking to find good homes for a number of really very tasty pieces of kit

For sale here is a very rare beast that would make a great addition to anyone's collection, a mint 2010 Les Paul Historic 1957 Custom is a very rare TV Gold (that translucent gold rather than a 'Gold top')

Unlike the more recent Les Paul Customs, this one has a solid mahogany body (which you can see through the translucent gold finish) and an Ebony board. It weighs 9.7lbs

Because it's an Historic 1957 reissue, it also has the same sizeable neck as you'd see on an R7 from this period, which gives it immense sustain and resonance

2007 is before the introduction of the excellent Custombucker pickups, but I managed to source a set and add them to this guitar (7.8k DCR neck and bridge.) Note that the bridge HB now has a roughcast Alnico IV in it

With the exception and the addition of Straplock buttons, it's totally stock and comes with the original 'Gibson Custom' black case and black COA from this period

This is an absolute tone machine - there are some folks out there who say that the all mahogany guitars are darker than the LP standards with a maple top and with respect, that just isn't true! ..what you get with the all mahogany guitar is a slightly slower but much more powerful attack with a little more focus on the fundamental rather than the overtones. What does that sound like? ..the best way I can describe it is 'power' and 'solidity' - it's more purposeful sounding than a Standard or a more recent Custom (which are basically just standards with different fretboard inserts) but still cleans up to delicate tones with real balance - there's a reason these were the top of the line Lesters back in the day!

The answer was never 42 - it's 1/137 (..ish)

Apologies - was meant as a joke but I can see it might come across as being insensitive to the OP.  Not intended at all.

Lovely guitar.  I wish I could afford it.

Bump - properly good one this - if was able to play as much as I wanted, I would not be letting this one go and anyone who knows me knows I'm a fussy fekker!
