How to watch UFC

I used to have access to watch UFC via the BT sport app when I had their broadband.

I always found it completely useless in terms of UI and dropouts.

I swapped to zen broadband about a year ago and lost access to UFC. (While gaining access to good broadband.)

I'd heard that the rights were switching to Eleven in 2019 but apparently that deal has fallen apart and it's back with BT again.

Given that I don't have sky, and won't be switching broadband how can I watch UFC?

I'm more than happy to pay but I'm not going to drop stupid money for a football package I won't watch to see one fight a month.

I'd gladly sign up to fight pass but I've heard the UK version has most of the content removed as BT have the rights.

Ideas?

You need BT Sport to do it legally.

That's tedious as there is no way for me to get it.

When I went for Zen Internet I had Sky TV & the BT Sport extra subscription pretty much just for UFC.
I agree it is a pain in the ass.

Otherwise you are trying to get access via various dodgy sites.
I've not done this myself *wink wink* but 'people I know' who have done this found it very unreliable.

I won't spoil your evening by saying that it is on regular Fox Sports here in Sinkieland.

    Curse you!

Fight pass claims main events have a 48hr delay which I can deal with by keeping away from the news.

I've heard the app is fairly terrible though

I always thought the first rule was you weren’t allowed to talk about UFC? ;)

I wouldn't bother with Fight Pass- it is a disaster.

    Because of drop outs?

Yup and dropped content and a terrible interface.
I must admit it was a while since I used it.

I might have a look at the free trial and see if it's improved at all.

Not being able to view UFC can only be a good thing.  IMHO.

  • Do you have an EE contract for anything?

I get BT Sport on a tablet and phone with my contract.

We mainly use it for the World Rally Championship coverage....(I had to google UFC)

If the opinion is so humble why did you choose to share it when it adds no value to the thread?

I have a friend who subscribes to BT Sport. He gets 3 or 4 devices on which he is permitted to view BT Sport online.

He lends me one of his device licences so I can watch it.

I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin

But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to

The only thing that stops me from watching UFC live is the timings.

These days I only go to bed the same day I got up!

And I'm not getting up at 4am!

I used to think the same.  It is very brutal at times, but the safety record is arguably better than boxing as one sided fights are generally over more quickly, and there are less repeated blows to the head.
There's also a lot less pantomime bullshit involved (McGregor excepted).

Me me and my lad really enjoy it now, the athleticism and skill is incredible at times.

Can you not record it and watch over breakfast?

  • If there is a 48hr delay anyway then just torrent it.

I'm not really interested in torrents, VPNs, or dodgy streams.

Completely agree. I was a huge boxing fan in my younger days but it seems extremely limited now compared to MMA.

At first I couldn't get used to the use of knees and the ground attacks, but now I appreciate the skill and technique of the fighters, they really are incredible.

There also seems to be a much healthier group of ex-fighters in MMA than in boxing. Ken Florian, Dan Hardy, Chael Sonnen, Matt Serra etc are all really analytical and great to listen to.
