A quick snap from the workshop of our new bass pickup ... the 'Tempest'
Okay the name of pickup is quite cryptic ... the captain of the Stingray in Gerry Anderson's sixties puppet series from the 60s was Troy Tempest :-)

    AWKWARD SQUAD QUESTIONS
    1. With what format of output cable will that be offered?
    2. Is it strictly dual coil or can it be ordered with the third noise-cancelling coil?
    3. Have you tried pairing up two of your Overkill as a humbucker?
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

    Ha!
    Four conductor cable as standard
I may look into doing a triple coil at some point ... things are a tad busy for too much R&D at the moment :-)
An 'Overkill Twin' will be on the bench for building soon :-)

I have a cunning plan, my lord. Something that will fit into a 95 x 44mm Warwick "double J" pickup cavity. (Polepiece spacing, 55mm Bridge coil, 53mm Neck coil.) Two different coils types with a small gap between them. Probably, an Overkill/Tempest combination. Possibly, an Overkill/Jazz.

I realise that the latter combination would already be possible using two existing OCP products, give or take a few custom winding tweaks.

I could pretty easily do that :-)

yes I do, but as with all my pickups I don't want to release something till it sounds just right to my ears. The way forward for JB I think is an exotic magnet array ... and that will take a while.
