Ballycastle Irish Country Cream from Aldi ....

What's Hot

Have you seen what it’s made of? I’m sure it’s based on white wine, which I didn’t think that Baileys was.
But agreed it’s really tastey, I’ve even got some in the fridge at the moment!
Always be yourself! Unless you can be Batman, in which case always be Batman.
My boss told me "dress for the job you want, not the job you have"... now I'm sat in a disciplinary meeting dressed as Batman.

Ballycastle was pretty popular with my wife and her mates (seems to be a pretty staple kitchen bottle round our friend’s places) so it can’t be too bad.
My brother got me a bottle of the Aldi Bourbon for Xmas (Clarkes? Summat like that). Brilliant. While slightly rougher than Jim Beam White neat, it was excellent for mixed drinks - I am partial to a bourbon and soda or ginger ale and it went down a treat. I also like their French lager - the Stella clone St Etienne (bottle only, cans taste different and not as nice) and 17somethingsomething (the Kronenbourg rip) are fucking ace. Great barbecue beers.

LIDL's methylated spirits is also a nice tipple.
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine.
Also chips are "Plant-based" no matter how you cook them.

I think it's based on a generic cheap distilled spirit

Aldi were doing a knock off of Kraken before Christmas. It was called Seadog, it was amazing for £15 and I may have stockpiled while they had it in...
I like their Memphis Bourbon & Coke cans when they stock them too.

  • The Clarke bourbon is decent - comparable to Jim beam, better than Sainsbury's own brand which tastes very heavily vanilla (as though it has flavouring - I'm sure it doesn't though). Perfect for sours.

They do some decent gins, too, including a very juniper heavy one, a floral one and a spicier one. Lovely stuff.
