Audible Recommendations

I have an audible subscription and I don't tend to listen to the books at the rate I get new credits.

So now I'm I'm the situation that I have a few books queued and 3 credits available and I can't think of anything I want.

I'd like to buy 3 books and then put my account on hold. But what should I get?

I almost exclusively listen to non fiction btw.

Ah ok. I could recommend some history books which are great reads but they may not be on audible. Science tho, isn’t my area of expertise

If you're into Alan Partridge, you need to hear Steve Coogan in character reading Partridge's books 'I, Partridge (We Need To Talk About Alan)' and 'Nomad'.

I'm most of the way through Shirer's "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich". Started it before Christmas. It's pretty epic, I had read it 10 years ago but still...

Into The Black by Rowland White

It's the history of the development of the Space Shuttle but also acts as a potted history of NASA itself. Absolutely absorbing if you're into that sort of thing (which I am). I read it a few years ago now so can't speak to the quality of the audiobook but it has a 'top rated performance' by other audible readers - I'll confess that I don't listen to audiobooks so don't know how reliable that is.

Oh, I read that about 18 months ago, again can't speak for the audiobook but I can second the recommendation on the strength of the paperback.

Remember being amazed by the parts about early spy satellites - ever wondered how they got the pictures back down?

Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari is an interesting read/listen. Seven Brief Lessons in Physics by Carlo Rovelli or if you want better narration then The Order of Time (Benedict Cumberbatch). The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins. That's about the limit of my scientific reading though.
