Are cheap wireless systems worth buying?

I'm a purely home electric guitarist, not gigging, with a small budget. Because I keep tripping over my lead, I looked at the cheapest wireless systems such as this one on eBay for £17 (it tells me: "Frequency: UHF 680MHz ~ 730MHz (50 Channels)"). Has anyone tried these ultra-cheap ones, and if so are they useable - not for gigs or anything professional, merely at home instead of a lead? I'm thinking that they might have a lag, crackle or interfere with neighbours' TVs and so on.

Can't comment on that one, however there's just the thought that a bug wireless like that one is gonna be best for home use.  What I mean is  something like the Line 6 G30 that I use for gigs would be a pain in the arse at home cos the transmitter has to go in your pocket or clip to your strap (which I seldom bother with at home). 

For home I use my old Samson wireless -- which is a bug -- and perfect.

Curly leads are harder to trip over.
But probably not much cheaper than that wireless doohickey.

I once bought a really cheap wireless mic but it only worked intermittently. I binned it.

I think @Emp_Fab tried the experiment of buying a cheap wireless system and had predictable results. Generally, you get what you pay for.

That must have been the Norman Collier model.

I've just ordered these for home use only.  The only real criticism on reviews is a short battery life of around a couple of hours.  That won't matter to me.  I'll report back when I get the stuff.

i use a cheap alesis wireless system about£70, No loss of sound quality, seems better made than the line 6 basic one. gigged regularly for 4 years, never let me down.   a pair of cheap lidl AAA batts lasts for over 2 gigs.
