If it's a clone of the big Blue then I found it to be quite ordinary and nothing to write home about.
The boost was unusable so it's good that they have removed that.
The switches on the old one were digital and not properly debounced which made them not always trigger properly so hopefully they've fixed that in the mini.

The Red is excellent though very fiddly to set up with all the switches.

Bloody marvellous pedal, gives me an extra set of sounds out of the Atma, not mega high gain though, more of an overdrive - I find the boost very useable, each to their own I suppose.

I’ve had the Red too but find the Blue a lot more useable for the stuff I play - classic rock, 80’s stuff

Do you not find the amount of boost to be massive even when set to minimum?

    Nope, pretty much bang on.

It does sound good, but maybe not enough gain overall. The boost is usable live, but with the gain on minimum and the volume on about 1.

I guess it depends on the amp.

On a twin it just doubles the volume and blows your ears out.

Tried the red and wasn't blown away. Bought the blue and really like it. I find the boost fine for live use too. Enough gain to play classic rock.

  • The old Blue's been my main pedal for years - once I fixed the dodgy switches by fitting some caps across them. Generally used 30W EL84 or 20W 6V6 type amps and the boost was perfect for them.
