How to remove chrome from a bass bridge

I'm lining up my next project and I want a brass bridge on my bass.

Now, I have a Hipshot brass bridge, so I'm thinking that all I need to do is strip off the chrome.

How can I do that?

    Mild acid bath.

This will pickle away the electroplated chrome and any nickle. The concentration may need increasing to make inroads into the copper.

Unless you lacquer the raw brass, it will rapidly tarnish.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

PCB etchant removes chrome for relicing....perhaps leave it soaking for longer?

Chrome is a tough bugger. I tried with acid but it still didn't remove it.
