Hello all, a good friend of mine is selling his amp as his band/gigging days are over and this amp isn’t getting used anymore.

Im listing it here as he has no real internet presence which means I’ll also be listing it for him elsewhere with the same infomation and photos.

The amp has done a handful of practice sessions and 2 gigs under his ownership. Prior to that it did the same sort of numbers. Cosmetically, it’s absolutely mint and includes the cover.

Please bear with me on this next bit as it’s the specs lifted from Andertons...

General Spec

50W/15W, all valve, two channel guitar amplifier with reverb.

Valves

Power Amp: 2 x EL34.
Preamp: 4 x 12AX7/ECC83. 1 x 12AT7.

A bias switch is situated on the top panel of the amplifier so that the bias voltage can be set to a range more appropriate for EL34 or 6L6 use. It should be noted that bias adjustment is still required when changing output valves.

Transformers

Custom wound and designed in-house.

Construction Methods

All power supply and switching circuitry is PCB mounted. All circuitry directly relating to valves is hand-wired on 3mm turret board and point to point on the valve bases themselves.

Controls

Clean Channel Gain (with Pull Crunch feature), Channel Select Toggle Switch, Overdrive Channel Gain, Gain Boost Toggle Switch, Gain Boost, Bass, Middle, Treble, Clean Master, Overdrive Master, Reverb.

Features

  • Channel switching between clean and overdriven sounds via a front panel toggle switch or remote footswitch.
  • The Clean Channel has a Pull Crunch feature that allows it to be switched into a crunchy overdrive which is great for cleaner blues lead playing.  This is also footswitchable via rear panel socket
  • The Overdrive Channel has a switchable Gain Boost, which is accessible via the footswitch or front panel toggle switch and enables both crunchy rhythm guitar and sustaining lead guitar tones from this channel. The level of Boost is controllable via the Gain Boost front panel pot.
  • 3-Spring Reverb
  • Effects Loop with variable Wet/Dry Mix control via rear panel control.
  • Switching for High Power/ Standby/ Low Power.
  • Dual leather strap handles.
  • Hinged trapdoor for easy access to valves for replacement or experimentation.
  • Patented magnetic ‘knobguard’ to protect control settings when one is off for a beer during the interval

Rear panel

Rear panel and rear grill fabricated from 1.2mm Stainless Steel.

Fused mains inlet; High Tension Fuse; Speaker Outputs: 2 x 4 ohms, 2 x 8 ohms, 1 x 16 ohms; Effects Loop Sockets, FX Mix control, 2-Way Footswitch Socket for Channel and Gain Boost and 1-Way Footswitch Socket for Crunch On/Off.

I have to admit that I think the lead channel is outstanding. Good high gain tones with plenty of bottom end on tap.

These amps are £1799 new, this one is available for £750 inc UK postage. Due to the fact it is based in Northern Ireland I think trades are out of the question.
