It depends upon what results you need to achieve / your budget. If you need best results, and have the budget required, then engaging a professional at the outset will save you time and money in the long run.
If this is a 'home studio' project then I'm happy to pass on some tips as to how you may get better results with best layout and some DIY acoustic treatment.
