Mandy

What's Hot
Anyone seen this? Just finished it and I think it's a psychedelic horror classic. Great score and visuals, lots of gory action.

  • I desperately want it to hit Netflix.

Looks like a great role for cage (who is popular, but I think very difficult to cast)

Because he can only play Nicholas Cage? A bit like Olivia Coleman only being able to play Olivia Coleman...

Pretty much the definition of an old fashioned movie star - someone who brings a defined, set personality to every role. Wayne, McQueen, Gable, Bruce Willis etc.

True - Someone flagged up John Wayne as Genghis Khan the other day and that's one of my personal favourites.

Nic Cage is great lol. He's done some great films and some terrible ones, but I give anything a go.

Anyone seen Bringing out the dead?
    Thought that was pretty cool.

I also discovered Drive Angry, which was right up my street.

William Fichtner made it hilarious, but then again, so did Nic.
The only easy day, was yesterday...

Surprisingly, he's remarkably restrained in this film.
Even more surprising considering it's a blood drenched revenge movie.
From the first opening bars of King Crimson you know it's going to be a bit different.
It's bound to become a cult classic, deservedly so.

Bringing out the dead was good.
You should see Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call if not already done so, it's excellent.

To me it's just the third (or actually second) Ghost Rider movie.  Not saying that's a bad thing.

I liked the style of Mandy, but I found the actual rampaging rollercoaster of revenge (quoting myself) in the second half of the film a bit of a let-down.  I need to watch it again, everyone seems to like it so much.

Exactly  He is at his best where outrageous is suitable - Mandy looks properly outrageous (in a great way).

Likewise, casting him in a war film is probably not a good idea (windtalker...)

Might see if I can rent it.

You're a brave man if you can watch another Ghost Rider film. Mind you, the first one was so appalling a sequel couldn't possibly be any worse.
     :)
Mandy is nothing like Ghost Rider, thank God!

Loved Mandy, Ghostrider meets Hellraiser meets Max Max meets Wild At Heart meets a massive bucket of cocaine in the writers room while the writers are only permitted to watch Heavy Metal or Ozzy Osbourne and Dio music videos during the writing and filming.

second any recommendation for Bad Lieutenant, and would add a recommendation for Mom and Dad
