its a good fit on the plug but it really needs support on the front edge.  Unfortunately the extra bit of wood and masses of glue at the front edge won't provide the support needed.. infact it won't do much of anything other than make the repair look messy.

with trem use i would expect that plug to move pretty quickly

I would have been looking to make the plug wider and deeper, as much as i could whilst still being hidden.  although on that particular body i would have been looking to replace the whole body instead.  its not a nice area to fix on a trem guitar as its the weakest point and the body does not look worth saving anyway

Similar style of  repair on something else:image

The link below shows how I repaired a Les Paul junior earlier this year.

Your life will improve when you realise it’s better to be alone than chase people who do not really care about you. Saying YES to happiness means learning to say NO to things and people that stress you out.

Craftsman!, it looks an absolute quality retop/refurb, I'd love a Fat neck'd LP DC someday, but currently obsessed by (maple neck) top mount floyd strats!. I keep looking at the Precision kits, anyone on here have any experience of them?, an interesting section to the forum and some quality work shown by all, I can't find an introduction page Doh!, so.... Great site! and Thanks to all involved in getting this forum launched, hopefully it'll continue to grow and be a valuable place to learn/laugh/GAS from, anyway formally wtf99 on the other place!, cheers.
