Weber Mini Mass Attenuator

What's Hot

I have found my old Mini Mass attenuator.

It has not been used for years.

I've opened it up and the large white resistors are still connected properly, but have become unstuck. What do I glue them back down with?

And... as I no longer own a valve amp... how do I test it to check it works ok before I sell it? I don't have any use for it.

any ideas?

high temperature epoxy glue (normal one will melt under load) should do it.

I have always found standard Araldite works fine but if you can find a better version go for it. There is I think a special, high heat conductivity epoxy but could be pricey.

As for testing, first check there is the appropriate resistances at input and output. Don't have a circuit so no idea what they should be but anything ten Ohms or so will be fine, an open or short circuit is suss. If ok just rig it to any amp you have handy just don't put 200W of bass into it! You just need practice/tune up level and make sure all the pots and switches work.

    Dave.

    Ace!

Now I have to hope that my amp has the dual Speakon / Jack connectors!

intumescent silicon caulking will work great as adhesive
