Little Issue with Tremolux

I recently grabbed an EC Tremolux 12w 1 x 12 Tweed- which is based on a 5E9

Anyway, with the Tremolo off, and the amp cranked WITH AN EXTERNAL PEDAL- esp a BK Tube Driver, there's a strange occilation going on which sounds almost as if the trem is bleeding into the signal when it's off (but at a high speed).

I repeat, the trem is off, and this isn't a trem sound, more of an occilation....any ideas?

Try valve substitution. Begin with the rectifier.

Is the trem actually off, or just set to minimum speed? Does switching it off using the footswitch make a difference?

Another option is that owing to the terrible lead dress in those amps you have a real oscillation that needs to be addressed, fast.
