Boo Instruments

I've had a couple of Boo Instruments pedals and have always highly rated them. The chorus has been on my board for quite a few years.

I know they're a British company but have never really been able to find out much about them. Anyone know whosw behind it etc? Just curious

I had a TS-808 by Boo and it was my favourite 808 clone for a long time. Hard to beat for the price.

Their clean boost seems to be well regarded.
I've only seen their stuff being sold on Ebay.

I've looked on there but it doesn't say much. Just curious to know more

I’ve currently got a Boo trem for sale and I don’t know if it’s this lack of ‘brand knowledge’ (for want of a better phrase) but it’s the only pedal I’ve not had a single enquiry about. It’s a bloody good pedal, built like a tank, but no-one seems interested. Weird, but perhaps understandable.

I have always assumed they were rehoused mass production “clones.” Or maybe even not rehoused, perhaps manufactured in a nice box for all I know. Their anonymity on virtually all forums, YouTube etc, their inability to do custom builds or call them all point in that direction. Had a tremolo and chorus of theirs and both were great - sounded good, tidy builds, very low-noise. Some of the prices listed on eBay can only be described as “ambitious” though.

Frankly a completely weird way to run a business, but they’ve been around for a while now so can’t be doing too many wrong things.

I just had a look at the website, and I'd go for them being a one man band who builds pedals as a bit of a side line.

While there I just watched the delay demo vid, and it sounds nice.

Edit - They do have facebook and twitter - https://www.facebook.com/BooInstruments/

I love the LEDs on the casing but I’m a tart like that :)
