Boss Tube Amp Expander or Kemper Powerhead?

Musing about the pros and cons of the above products. The Boss (or alternative brand) unit interests as all I own are (very) loud and heavy valve amps (predominantly Twins) I no longer get to crank and it’d be nice to use them to their full potential again. 

But...

For little difference in money I can pick up the Kemper, sell my amps and use the cash to cherry pick a few high end pedals and maybe a ‘lifer’ guitar or two. 

Age (44) is a consideration, as is my health which is definitely slowing me down at the very least. 

I’ve never been overly comfortable with digital modelling and the idea of relying on one amp without a back-up is scary, especially when I can repair most of the common faults in a valve amp myself but would be seriously out of my depth with anything else. I’ll likely have to switch to something a little more portable in the next ten years or so anyway but I can’t quite talk myself into it. 

Just my evening thought process doing its thing but any advice is welcome as always.
